Statement
Prompted by a neighbor's lonely death, I became curious about the time before, after, or in between my own death.
I know of no one who can recount the experience firsthand.
No one knows it; it is close to longing.
The neighbor's room was cleared away with anticlimactic ease, just as morning comes and night comes, just as the wind blows and the curtains sway, so much so that it felt
like a dream.
I hold a yearning for that uncertain, fleeting event, and paint it as a landscape of the mind.
