Currently based in Saitama.

Nakazawa has primarily made wood-carved works using the body as a motif. Wood is the main material, but by skillfully combining it with others such as artificial hair and fabric, materials closely related to the body, she has achieved a distinctive expression. In recent works, in addition to this distinctive technique, she uses a Cubism-like method of decomposing two-dimensional stories from various angles and reconstructing them into three-dimensional sculpture, visualizing the uncertainty of the world's fairy tales, myths, and religious stories together with the ambiguity of her own abstract thoughts and emotions.

From Nakazawa's work, one might read a contemporary social structure in which countless stories, large and small, are fragmentarily excerpted and woven together through repeated reconstruction; at the same time, the rich charm inherent to human beings can be felt in the delicate yet rough expression within.
