Concept
The artist's paintings, picture books and poems grow out of a story of becoming independent: Kanako Mineuchi, a model pupil who fears the caste system and the herd mentality rife in primary and junior high school and tries always to be ordinary, falls in love with Yoshizawa, an eccentric classmate who lives without caring what others think, and little by little changes into someone who can live as herself.
Her work focuses on those who, within the machinery of society, have been unheard, unseen, and finally treated as though they had never existed at all.

About the artist
小学校や中学校内で蔓延っているカースト制度や全体心理を恐れ、常に普通でいようとする優等生の少女（峰内かな子）が、人目を気にせず生きる風変わりな吉澤くんという同級生に恋することで徐々に人目を気にせず自分らしく生きていこうと変わっていく自立への物語を元に、絵画や絵本、詩を創作している。
彼女の作品は社会の歯車の中で、聞こえないふり、見ないふり、そして存在さえもなかったことにされてきた者たちに焦点を当てている。
