Cocona Murayama
Born in Saitama Prefecture, 1999. 2021 Graduated, Oil Painting, Department of Painting, Tokyo University of the Arts. Currently enrolled in the Second Studio of Oil Painting, Graduate School, Tokyo University of the Arts.
Concept
Centering mainly on three-dimensional works and photographs in wood, taking familiar things as motifs, she carries out an expressive practice of geometric figures based on existing forms and on orbits and movements. She also pursues the effects that arise through color composition.
Focusing the formal theory and color composition through geometric figures established in art history onto familiar things in the present, she wishes to develop, from multiple angles and through three-dimensional works and photographs, the dispelling of fixed ideas and the new perspectives that lie hidden.

About the artist
主に木材による立体作品や写真を中心に、身近にあるものをモチーフに、既存のフォルムと軌道や運動を基に生み出される幾何学図形の表現活動を行っている。また、色彩構成によって生まれる効果についても追及している。
美術史の中で確立された、幾何学図形を通した造形理論と色彩構成を、現代における身近なものに焦点をあて、
固定概念の払拭や潜んでいる新たな視点を立体作品や写真などを通し、多角的に展開していきたい。
